Family Tree DNA has a sale on until 31st December, so this would be a great time to order your DNA tests (especially my relatives – hint, hint!), buy a DNA test as a gift, or arrange a transfer (actually a duplication, as they also remain at the original testing company) of your 23andMe or AncestryDNA results to FTDNA, to allow for DNA fishing in another pond. The shipping costs are significantly less at Family Tree DNA than at 23andMe for international orders ($9, see Here for comparative costs at 23andMe) and they will store your DNA, allowing add-on tests to be conducted, at a reduced cost. Details of the sale are Here and are summarized below:

If you are just starting off and wondering which test(s) to have and which company to test at, I'm happy to offer some advice and suggestions (based on my experience in being tested at 4 of the companies – see My DNA Results from 4 Companies). A lot depends on your objectives and where you live.
